The Remodel is almost finished

Well it's a work in progress, but by next week it will be done and ready for Lloyd's arrival home. All the bedroom doors have been replaced and we are having tile put in the bathroom and the laundry room. It is a nice change, but we are ready to have the project done with! Stay tuned for more pictures and updates!

Lloyd and the outside world

Ok so it has been awhile since this blog has been updated. This is actually Katie and I was updating this blog for mom since we haven't been able to add things lately. I wanted to put pictures up and videos of Dad's AKA Lloyd's progress. The last 6 weeks we have had various family members come and visit. During these visits we were able to take Lloyd out of the hospital for a drive around town a few times and then about over a week ago Georgeanna found a wheelchair accessible van. This van has been such a blessing to us. We have been able to take Dad out to eat and around the town including being able to go to church for the first time in 6 months. It was a very exciting and emotional day for everyone there including Lloyd. Many people have told us that him being there made the ward complete again. He is doing awesome. He is happy and everyday walking a little better with a walker. Hope you all enjoy the pics and the videos. You can see the stander we have to help get him standing up. We like to say that it's like a Disneyland ride for him. Enjoy!!

update on the life and times of l and g johnson

We've had a good week. Lloyd is walking with a walker 6-8 feet now. It's still a lot of work and requires 2-3 people--one on each side and one bringing the wheelchair. The consultant fromLeon Peters Rehab came on Thursday to assess him for placement sometime in the next few weeks. It's still iffy, but we continue to work on our goals and aspirations. One day at a time. Thanks for all your love and prayers--they do work and I feel stronger every day!--Love Georgeanna

Welcome to the family our new addition--Minnow

We added a stray kitten to the family this last week. He wandered into the nursing home where Lloyd is and caught everyone's attention. They needed a home and I said--maybe????? Well, it seems he's become a fixture, and is getting along quite well with Bailey--Zoey is another story! And you say why the name?? We had to keep the "tradition" going, and this kitten has one large "motor"!! Just for the record--"He" will soon be an "it"! Georgeanna

Christmas time with the family

I know this a little delayed, but Katie had to get the pictures on this blog. We had a wonderful Christmas, even if Grandad was in the hospital, still. He continues to progress every day and is now taking a few steps with a walker. It's a lot of work, but he's getting there. Even more exciting--weight has dropped to 298--it's been a long time since he's weighed under 300! The dietary consultant (who has a weight problem) asked how he did it and he said, "Hospital food!"

We continue to count our blessings and the small steps that add up to the bigger picture. Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts. So glad to have so many of you checking on us--Love, Georgeanna

A very happy 46th anniversary celebration

Today was very special, thanks to special friends who came to serenade Lloyd today. We made it a party with all their families when it was scheduled for our 46th wedding anniversary. The group is called Harmony and they plan for special programs in May and December and sing for senior citizens and nursing homes. They all are members of the Selma Ward and really do a wonderful presentation.

Dad (Lloyd)is front and center

A little party followed in the Therapy Room

Some special friends: Bert and Eileen Engstrom, Bruce and Irma Bybee, and Linda and Steve McNaughton

On the top, they did a special number for us: "My Guy"; They are holding a picture of Lloyd with the number 46 on it. On the bottom is one of the Christmas songs they sang:--Carol of the Bells.
